London elopement photography

I couldn’t wait to share more photos of this beautiful elopement wedding in central London with you!

Emma and Steve came to London to tie the knot and I was lucky to be their photographer for the day. I feel very lucky when I get to be part of anyone’s wedding, but when it is an elopement like this one, is much more special, because I am one of the very few witnesses of the day and I am the bride and groom companion for most of the time.

Steve was wearing a kilt outfit, which was great! I had had the opportunity to photograph wedding guests in the past wearing a scottish outfit, but never a groom before.

I went to the hotel were Emma and Steve stayed the night before and after taking a few photos in there, we took a cab and headed to central London to get some photos with the Big Ben, Houses of Parliament and other London highlights. After that, their wedding car was waiting for us and took us to Marylebone Town Hall, were they got married in the Yellow room. Two of their friends were there as their witnesses (they even brought confetti, so we could get some lovely confetti shots!)

After that, we went to Regent’s Park for some more photos (always a lovely place for photos) before going to Claridges, were they went for afternoon tea. Unfortunately, being such an intimate event, I was only allowed to take a few photos in the foyer, but I couldn’t take any more photos at Claridges and have to say goodbye there.

Emma and Steve, it was a pleasure to work with you, I wish you all the best for your future together!

Romantic elopement wedding in London

It was only last week but I cannot wait to share just a couple of photos of this beautiful elopement wedding I photographed last Wednesday in London.
Emma and Steve came to London to tie the knot here, and I was lucky to be their photographer and one of the few witnesses of their beautiful day. We took photos before and after the ceremony, and coming from outside London, as you can imagine, there was a time to take some photos with the Big Ben, Houses of Parliament and London Eye in the background. I will be posting a few more of these elopement wedding photos next month. For the moment, this is just a little taster…

Marylebone Town Hall wedding: Emily&Ben

I really love central London weddings as Emily and Ben’s! There are multiple backgrounds to use, and the environment of busy streets full of londoners and  tourists is a great opportunity for photos. People looking at the bride and the groom, sometimes even congratulating them as they walk by cause reactions and smiles on them which I love to capture. The day started early in the morning at the Civil Service Club, where Emily got ready and where the wedding reception took place later on the day. A routemaster bus was waiting outside to take her as well as her parents, bridesmaid and close relatives to Marylebone Town hall, where the civil ceremony took place.I traveled with them on the bus and I quickly went inside to the Purple Room where Ben and their guests were waiting for the arrival of the bride to take some shots. This has been my second wedding at Marylebone Town Hall and both have been in the Purple Room. It is a beautiful and elegant room with good lighting, I love taking pictures in there. The whole building, inside and outside makes a beautiful background for wedding photos. After a beautiful ceremony and taking some group photos outside on the steps, we all got on the bus again to go to the Civil Service Club, very close to the river . Emily and Ben were not interested in dedicating a lot of their time posing for photos, so we just went for a few minutes to Embankment bridge and took some very natural and unposed photos from there with some of London’s highlights in the background. After that, they went back to their guests and enjoy their day.

Marylebone Town Hall wedding: Marie and Sam

I couldn’t wait to blog this great wedding I had the pleasure to photograph last month: Marie & Samuel.
From the very beginning, when I met them and we signed the contract, I felt this was going to be a wedding with tons of great photo opportunities, with a beautiful venue for the wedding ceremony, a vintage red London bus to transport guests from one venue to the other, and finally a very chic and trendy venue for the reception: St Chads Place, a converted warehouse in King’s Cross.
Apart from the venues, the wedding was also full of very photogenic and expressive people, which always helps a lot 🙂

Marie was beautiful wearing a vintage dress, here she is arriving with her father while everyone waits for her arrival:

And it is the time for one of my favourite part of any wedding: the confetti, congratulations, hugs and kisses! Marylebone Town Hall is a great place for that with the striking high columns.

I was travelling with all the guests and bride and groom in the bus, so I could capture some natural moments there too…a challenging situation taking photographs on a moving bus!

Marie and Sam’s wedding was full of beautiful details. Every seat had a photo of one of the guests, so they had to find their places by looking at the photos. I found this a very nice way to start the reception, as it was like a game that created a lot of atmosphere and I could capture a lot of reactions and emotions caused by the photographs.

Marie and Sam were not interested in posed photos, as they like more the documentary style, the same as myself,  but we took some quick group photos before I left.

This was my last wedding of the season 2011, and it was a great one to finish the year. I am so looking forward to photograph next one…I love photographing weddings, it is such a pleasure to be part of such an important day on someone’s life!
