Dance photography

Today I am posting some pictures from my personal work (and non wedding related), which lately I don’t have the time to do as much as I would like.

These photos were taken at The Camera Club, one of the oldest photographic clubs in the world, to which I am a proud member. The Club runs regular workshops, one of them being the “Dance Group”. Once a month, a dancer comes to the studio and several photographers members of the Club will be taking photos there together.

In this occasion the dancer was Gaia Cicolani, an italian dancer, graduated with First Honour degree in the Contemporary Dance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London.

She performed for us while we took turns to take photos of her capturing her beautiful movement.

Artistic nude maternity photography

I photographed Kailey’s wedding around a year and a half ago and it was a pleasure to know that she was pregnant and that she would like to be in front of my camera again for an artistic nude maternity photography session.

We started with a bright look and natural light (no nude for this look) and the use of  some pink balloons to celebrate that the baby she was expecting was a baby girl, followed by some artistic nude maternity photos against a black background where Kailey and her pregnancy were the main subject.

Album cover photography: Abbaphonic

It has been a while since my last post. These photos here were also taken a while ago. To be more specific, it was a job I did at the end of September for a design studio who was doing the design album cover for the last album of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
This album features Abba’s greatest hits with an orchestral twist. West End singers Ria Jones and Mary Carewe put their wonderful voices.
It was an important day for me and very exciting, since I am normally used to be involved in more intimate photoshoots, only me and the model/client normally(as I trained as a makeup artist before, I normally help also with that). But there was a lot of people involved in this, since apart from the two singers, me and Maria (who was my assistant for the day), people from the design studio and from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra marketing department were present during the shoot, and a makeup artist, of course.
Time went by really quickly and it was a pleasure to work with everyone, specially with the two singers, Ria and Mary, they were really nice and easy to work with.
I am waiting to receive some copies of the cd and enjoy it!
The two first photos are the original ones I took, the design of the cd has been done for the design studio which hired my services, Oink creative Ltd.

Studio Lighting Photography Course

I am so excited today! It was my first day in the studio lighting course. I had taken another one before, but it was really short. Everything was in a rush and I didn’t get the basis about how to handle the material and all the settings and stuff. I am really happy with what I learnt today, even though I didn’t take any photo. We are 15 in the course and only 2 did, but everything was so well explained, that the only diference was that I didn’t press my camera button really, because we were all doing the backgrounds and the light metering and this kind of things. I think I will get a lot from this course and next week I would like to use my camera so I can see the results later on on my laptop, that would be great! In a couple of weeks, when I feel more confident I would like to hire a studio and plan something interesting to do there, that would be even better!
