London elopement photography

I couldn’t wait to share more photos of this beautiful elopement wedding in central London with you!

Emma and Steve came to London to tie the knot and I was lucky to be their photographer for the day. I feel very lucky when I get to be part of anyone’s wedding, but when it is an elopement like this one, is much more special, because I am one of the very few witnesses of the day and I am the bride and groom companion for most of the time.

Steve was wearing a kilt outfit, which was great! I had had the opportunity to photograph wedding guests in the past wearing a scottish outfit, but never a groom before.

I went to the hotel were Emma and Steve stayed the night before and after taking a few photos in there, we took a cab and headed to central London to get some photos with the Big Ben, Houses of Parliament and other London highlights. After that, their wedding car was waiting for us and took us to Marylebone Town Hall, were they got married in the Yellow room. Two of their friends were there as their witnesses (they even brought confetti, so we could get some lovely confetti shots!)

After that, we went to Regent’s Park for some more photos (always a lovely place for photos) before going to Claridges, were they went for afternoon tea. Unfortunately, being such an intimate event, I was only allowed to take a few photos in the foyer, but I couldn’t take any more photos at Claridges and have to say goodbye there.

Emma and Steve, it was a pleasure to work with you, I wish you all the best for your future together!

And the winner is…

And the winner is…Hannah and James London City Wedding!

As I posted on this blog a few weeks ago, Hannah and James wedding was shortlisted by Your London Wedding Magazine to compete with other weddings for the “Wedding of the Year 2013” prize. They were on the first round with three other couples, and when I received the magazine yesterday I had the wonderful surprise of seeing them as the winners on a full page of the magazine.

This means that we will be competing on the final round with three other semi-finalists and I am so looking forward to it! So exciting!

This is the scanned magazine ‘s page, I love to see my weddings on magazine paper 🙂

Romantic elopement wedding in London

It was only last week but I cannot wait to share just a couple of photos of this beautiful elopement wedding I photographed last Wednesday in London.
Emma and Steve came to London to tie the knot here, and I was lucky to be their photographer and one of the few witnesses of their beautiful day. We took photos before and after the ceremony, and coming from outside London, as you can imagine, there was a time to take some photos with the Big Ben, Houses of Parliament and London Eye in the background. I will be posting a few more of these elopement wedding photos next month. For the moment, this is just a little taster…

Engagement photography in a colorful London spot

Let me introduce you to Laura and Danny, a very sweet and beautiful couple. They are getting married in a few months and I will be there with them on their big day too. I cannot wait!

We had their engagement photography session three weeks ago in one of my favorite spots in London: Neil’s Yard. I have known Neil’s Yard for a few years, and I still don’t know why I hadn’t had an engagement photography session until this day there, what a charming and photogenic place!

The day was perfect, sunny but not too much and we were there soon enough to avoid too many tourists (as it is very close to Covent Garden) and the alley and courtyard is quite small.

All business in the courtyard are really nice and each of them make their color contribution to the beautiful color mayhem.

After being shooting in Neil’s yard, we walked down to the river and we took the chance to take a few photos in front of the Savoy Hotel, which was a very special place for them, and as it happens it is a special place for me too.

London engagement shoot: Julia and Mark in London bridge and HMS Belfast

Today I have the pleasure to feature Julia and Mark’s engagement shoot in London Bridge and the HMS Belfast on my blog.

The location was chosen by them, since they got engaged in front of this ship museum. This was a very special place for them as you can imagine. We took a good number of photos with the HMS Belfast in the background, and the great thing is that Southbank is such a good location for photos that it is really easy to find nice spots everywhere around.

This was one cold day on April, specially chilly when on the bridge! But they had the chance of wearing the same clothes as they were wearing when they got engaged. With the choice of same location and same clothes than on the day of their engagement , I hope that they could go back to the day itself and these photos help to preserve a precious moment in their lives.

Routemaster Bus Weddings

From January, I had the idea of doing a compilation of some sort to feature a few different weddings on the same post.

The initial idea was a compilation of all the weddings I shot last year, whith the best of 2012, but already on April, now it seems a bit late for that (I guess this is the kind of thing we do a the start of the year). I thought that instead, I will make a post with photos of all the weddings I shot with routemaster buses.

Routemaster buses are getting a really popular thing, or at least I photograph a good percentage of weddings that have one! Not because it is trendy, but because it is a really great idea, I would recommed to hire one of these buses to couples getting married.

bride and groom and wedding guests having drinks inside and outside a routemaster bus

Hiring one of these buses is a great solution for how your guests are going to travel from the ceremony to the reception, and not only that, but keeps everyone together, so people gets to chat and have a drink sometimes even before they arrive to the reception. And it is a beautiful background for pictures too (a great plus from my point of view). In one of the weddings you can see on these pictures, they had a number of guests coming from outside London and the bus didn’t just go from point A to B, but it gave the wedding guests a brief taster of the London highlights too.

You can see some of the weddings featured here:

Donna and Luke

Gina and James

Louise and Dan

Ben and Emily

London engagement shoot: Claire and Richard

Claire, Richard and me met the last week of February for their engagement shoot.

We met in Embankment, a lovely place from where you can walk easily to many London highlights and some lovely and quiet gardens around too. Claire was looking amazing in a coat that used to belong to her mum and red lipstick.

It was a very chilly day, specially when on the bridge! and there was quite a bit of walking involved too…they were great and the cold didn’t affect them at all.

I cannot wait to photograph their wedding in a month…

Marylebone Town Hall wedding: Emily&Ben

I really love central London weddings as Emily and Ben’s! There are multiple backgrounds to use, and the environment of busy streets full of londoners and  tourists is a great opportunity for photos. People looking at the bride and the groom, sometimes even congratulating them as they walk by cause reactions and smiles on them which I love to capture. The day started early in the morning at the Civil Service Club, where Emily got ready and where the wedding reception took place later on the day. A routemaster bus was waiting outside to take her as well as her parents, bridesmaid and close relatives to Marylebone Town hall, where the civil ceremony took place.I traveled with them on the bus and I quickly went inside to the Purple Room where Ben and their guests were waiting for the arrival of the bride to take some shots. This has been my second wedding at Marylebone Town Hall and both have been in the Purple Room. It is a beautiful and elegant room with good lighting, I love taking pictures in there. The whole building, inside and outside makes a beautiful background for wedding photos. After a beautiful ceremony and taking some group photos outside on the steps, we all got on the bus again to go to the Civil Service Club, very close to the river . Emily and Ben were not interested in dedicating a lot of their time posing for photos, so we just went for a few minutes to Embankment bridge and took some very natural and unposed photos from there with some of London’s highlights in the background. After that, they went back to their guests and enjoy their day.
